Sun Grown Genetics

Sun Grown Genetics has some of our favorites cannabis genetics. Sun Grown Genetics is a true mom and pop, husband and wife team, in every sense of the phrase. They have a small farm. Call it boutique, craft or what you like. They do not run 100 lights or tens of thousands of plants and likely never will. They live and grow in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Northern California above 3,000 feet of elevation. Sunny has been growing steady in California since 2005 but popped their first seeds in Indiana in 1991. They first took on the moniker of “Sun Grown” in 2009. They leave drama and negativity at the door. So if you ever find a keeper, male or female, please by all means use it to your heart’s desire without fear of negative repercussions.

Sun Grown Genetics

Sun Grown is built on PrestaShop. As you know, we are big fans of open-source platforms and PrestaShop is a great option.

We really enjoyed their Pics Of Our Males. Not a whole lot of breeder-based seed banks have a male stud page. This really allows the customers more insight into the strains and genetics available.

I recently bought some genetics from them, but had a nasty lighting accident ruin my crop (and my happiness). When I started out, I had five seeds from two different packs. One pack of Pearly Gates (MAC 1 x Blue Pearl) and Ice Blizzard (Dosidos x Blue Flurry). All the seeds germinated quickly and looked great. After sending out the sex tests to Delta Leaf Labs, I received my test results by email and all 10 of the Sun Grown Genetics seeds were females. I were pretty stoked.

We would usually just germinate the other seeds we had leftover, but we promised them as giveaways already… We are going to buy a couple more packs this week and restart this grow over again! When we get to growing, we will have the whole grow logged in under our Strains category.
